SERVING THE BURTONSVILLE COMMUNITY SINCE 1954

The Burtonsville Lions Club was chartered in 1954 to join with the other clubs in pledging unselfish service to our local community and to those less fortunate than ourselves. Club members volunteer their time and energy to a variety of fundraising efforts, all of the profits from which are then designated for charitable uses. In typical years, through the efforts of our members and friends, we staff White Cane collection days, sell Christmas trees, and conduct a charity golf tournament.

While a portion of our budget supports the programs of the larger International Association, our aim is to donate and otherwise spend our funds locally. Currently 80% of our annual operating budget is directed toward local efforts.

WE PROVIDE:

  • Scholarships for local students
  • Eye exams and eyeglasses
  • Hospital and convalescent equipment

WE SUPPORT:

  • Lions Camp Merrick (La Plata, MD)
  • Blood Collection Programs
  • Local Youth Sports programs
  • Local Scouting programs
  • Burtonsville Day Celebration
  • Washington Wheelchair Society
  • Leader Dogs for the Blind
  • Lions Clubs International Foundation
  • District 22-C Music Band Program

CURIOUS ABOUT LIONISM?

Seibel’s is located on Old Columbia Pike.

You are invited to be our guest at one of our dinner meetings. There you can ask questions about Lions Clubs International and The Burtonsville Lions Club. You can also meet our members and consider whether you might want to contribute your time and talents with ours to make the world, and especially our community, a better place to live. If you are interested, please send an email to our club.

If you are interested in joining us, you can read more about becoming a Lion here.

Our monthly meetings are held at 7pm on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at Seibel’s Restaurant. Click here for directions.
